The Book Bag Story

The Book Bag Story

Here’s a polished, warm, heartfelt version of your story — keeping your voice, just making it flow smoothly while adding a touch of charm and confidence:

Book Bag was born out of a very real, very honest moment of desperation — the kind that comes when you need an outlet. I needed to work, but on my own terms and around my children. I wanted something that was mine, something to engage my brain, and something that made me feel useful to the world outside my home.

We live in an age where women are expected to have it all and do it all — while looking good, staying happy, keeping fit, and maintaining a thriving social life. And yes, we fought long and hard for the rights we have today, and in many ways that fight continues.

Maybe it was that same cultural weight, that mindset, that made me feel like being a stay-at-home mom wasn’t “enough.” I loved being home with my kids — but I also needed an activity that was mine.

The big question was:
What do I know and love well enough to market and sell?
And the answer was literally right in front of me. I was surrounded by piles of children’s books.

And just like that, the idea for Book Bag — and its name — were born.

What followed was a blur of emails, tons of research, and a huge dose of imposter syndrome, fully expecting someone to laugh me off. But instead… people replied. Orders came in. The business grew. And the rest, as they say, is history.

The moral of the story:
You will never feel completely ready.
You will never feel perfectly prepared.
But take the calculated risk anyway.
Take the first step — and trust that you’ll learn the rest on the way.

Love,
Gul x
